With so many people being scammed out of their life savings these days, it is always a good idea to research a product such as binary options automated trading software before making a huge investment. Not only do you risk losing your money, but you make yourself susceptible to identity theft, as you often are required to give your personal information, not to maintain your credit card information. It is wise to spend some time researching a company and reading reviews and forum comments before making the decision to invest with a company.

Smart Bot Pro automated trading software arrived on the scene earlier this year and pledges to earn traders generous profits with little to no effort on their end, just a few simple clicks, and a minimal financial investment. Is this system everything it claims to be or just another in a long line of scams? Read our Smart Bot Pro review for the details.

Not Reliable Service

What Is Smart Bot Pro?

Other than just some basic, generic information, we are not offered any details about Smart Bot Pro, not even the name of the person who designed the software. The website is lacking in important details such as company address, customer support info and any licensing information. As well, we are not given any insight as into how the trading software actually operates. The fact that so little information is provided leads us to believe that this may just be another poorly designed scam and not a trusted trading system.

We tried our best and utilized all of our resources to find out more information about Smart Bot Pro but could not find any solid information. All we could find were negative reviews that like us, questioned the validity of this trading system. We couldn’t find one positive review, other than on the website itself. Smart Bot Pro remains a mystery and we find this unsettling and therefore cannot recommend that our readers make use of this trading software.

How Does It Work?

To use Smart Pro Bot automated trading software, you must enter your information on their sales page, including your email and phone number. You will then be contacted by phone by one of their brokers. We could not find any information on their brokers including their resignation information so we doubt that their even their brokers are legitimate. We feel this is really fishy and we do not recommend giving your credit card information to one of these so-called trusted brokers.

You would then have the broker create your trading account and give them your credit card info, as well as the required initial deposit of $250. Supposedly, you would then be emailed a link to the Smart Pro Bot software and then you can start trading. However, many traders complained that once they gave their credit card information to a broker over the phone, they never received the link to the Smart Pro Bot software so they lost their deposit and never saw their money again. We saw this complaint time and time again, about traders losing their investment and never hearing from their supposed broker or customer support. To us, this is a severe red flag and we would not recommend giving any of your personal information to Smart Pro Bot trading software or one of their alleged brokers.

Conclusion: Is Smart Pro Bot a Scam?

Based on the number of complaints, harsh reviews and lack of product information, we cannot recommend Smart Pro Bot to our readers. We do not have enough proof to say for sure that Smart Bot Pro is indeed a scam, but it sure looks that way to our trained eyes. We strongly suggest that you steer clear of this system and opt for a trading app that has proven results.

Check if something might be a scam

Scams can be difficult to recognise, but there are things you can look out for.

You can use our online scams helper to get advice that’s specific to your situation.

Recognising a scam

It might be a scam if:

  • it seems too good to be true – for example, a holiday that’s much cheaper than you’d expect
  • someone you don’t know contacts you unexpectedly
  • you suspect you’re not dealing with a real company – for example, if there’s no postal address
  • you’ve been asked to transfer money quickly
  • you’ve been asked to pay in an unusual way – for example, by iTunes vouchers or through a transfer service like MoneyGram or Western Union
  • you’ve been asked to give away personal information like passwords or PINs
  • you haven’t had written confirmation of what’s been agreed

If you think you’ve paid too much for something

Paying more for something than you think it’s worth isn’t the same as being scammed. Usually, a scam will involve theft or fraud.

If you think you’ve spotted a scam

If you’ve given away money or information because of a scam, there are things you should do. Check what to do if you’ve been scammed.

If you haven’t been scammed but you’ve seen something you think is a scam, you should report it. Find out how to report a scam.

If you’re not sure if something is a scam, contact one of our scams advisers. They’ll give you advice about what to do next.

Protecting yourself online

There are things you can do to protect yourself from being scammed online.

Check you’re buying from a real company

You can search for a company’s details on GOV.UK. This will tell you if they’re a registered company or not.

If you’re buying something on a site you haven’t used before, spend a few minutes checking it – start by finding its terms and conditions. The company’s address should have a street name, not just a post office box.

Check to see what people have said about the company. It’s worth looking for reviews on different websites – don’t rely on reviews the company has put on its own website.

Also, don’t rely on seeing a padlock in the address bar of your browser – this doesn’t guarantee you’re buying from a real company.

Don’t click on or download anything you don’t trust

Don’t click on or download anything you don’t trust – for example, if you get an email from a company with a strange email address. Doing this could infect your computer with a virus.

Make sure your antivirus software is up to date to give you more protection.

Be careful about giving personal information away

Some scammers try to get your personal information – for example, the name of your primary school or your National Insurance number. They can use this information to hack your accounts. If you come across sites that ask for this type of information without an obvious reason, check they’re legitimate.

Check if your details have been shared online

Sometimes your log-in details can be made publicly available when a website is hacked. This means that someone could use your details in a scam. Check whether your accounts have been put at risk on Have I Been Pwned.

Make your online accounts secure

Make sure you have a strong password for your email accounts that you don’t use anywhere else. If you’re worried about remembering lots of different passwords, you can use a password manager.

Some websites let you add a second step when you log in to your account – this is known as ‘two-factor authentication’. This makes it harder for scammers to access your accounts.

Find out how to set up two-factor authentication across services like Gmail, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Outlook and iTunes on the website Turnon2fa.

Pay by debit or credit card

Pay by card to get extra protection if things go wrong. Read our advice on getting your money back after you’ve been scammed.

Know how your bank operates

Check your bank’s website to see how your bank will and won’t communicate with you. For example, find out what type of security questions they’ll ask if they phone you.

Find out about recent scams

You can sign up for email alerts on Action Fraud’s website to find out about recent scams in your area.

You can also check recent scams on Action Fraud’s website, and find out about common financial scams on the Financial Conduct Authority’s website.
